• Breakfast: Expanded continental in cottages. Ivy Room and Master Suite guest come into the kitchen for full breakfast. Just 1 mile from town of Vashon and many restaurants.
• Recreation & Activities: Walking trails, biking, kayak rentals, beachcombing, shopping, and ferry rides.
• Attractions & Special Events: Strawberry Festival is the 2nd weekend in July. Seattle and Tacoma are just 40 minutes away. Victoria is 2-1/2 hours by ferry ride.
• Recommended Local Restaurants: The Hardware Store, Ferrara's Restaurant, Sound Food, Back Bay Inn, and LaPlaya Restaurant.
• Recommended Local Best Kept Secrets: Glass blower in town, metal sculptor, Books by the Way Bookstore, Friday night art walk, Cafe Luna, and Tea Shop.
• Directions: From Sea-Tac Airport to Fauntleroy Ferry Dock in West Seattle: Exit airport onto Highway 518 West. Continue to the community of Burien. 518 ends and becomes 148th Street. Continue on 148th, take a Right on Ambaum Way (Ambaum becomes 16th Ave. SW). Turn left on Roxbury. Turn right on 35th Ave. SW. Turn left on Barton. Barton becomes Wildwood and winds its way down to the water and the Fauntleroy Ferry Dock. (Please look for the line... if there is one... and find the end of it. The line will have a driver in each car.)
  From West Seattle: Take Fauntleroy Ferry to Vashon Island. Once on the island follow the main road approximately 4 miles and turn left on Gorsuch road. Go 3/4 of a mile; road turns left and becomes 91st Ave. SW. Go 1/2 block; Inn is on the left.
  From Tacoma: Take Pt. Defiance Ferry to Vashon Island. Exit ferry to left. Follow main road (approximately 8 miles) to just past town of Vashon (about 1/4 mile); turn right on Gorsuch road. Go 3/4 mile; road turns left and becomes 91st Ave. SW. Go 1/2 block; Inn is on the left.
  From the Olympic Peninsula: Take the Southworth Ferry just South and East of Port Orchard. Going south on Highway 16, turn West on Sedgewick Road and continue to the ferry dock. (Buy ticket at hut).
  Passenger-only Ferry from Downtown Seattle: It is possible to get to and get around on Vashon Island by public transportation. However, it is preferred to have a car . The island is approximately 15 miles long. This ferry is for passengers only... no cars. The passenger only ferry leaves Colman Dock in downtown Seattle and lands on the north end of Vashon where you can catch a Metro bus (buses stop running on Vashon at about 7:00 p.m. and don't run at all on Sundays.) Also you may walk onto the car ferries. The Inn is 4 to 5 miles from the dock and 3/4 mile from main road where the bus would drop you off.
