The Governor's Inn Bed and Breakfast is a Victorian country
house located on the village green in Ludlow, Vermont offering
extraordinary New England lodging and dining less than one
mile from Okemo Mountain Ski Resort.
Jim and Cathy Kubec welcome you to a haven for enjoying
life's pleasures and a base for exploring Vermont.
Stylish and romantic, The Governor's Inn offers seven guest
rooms and one suite, each with private bath. There are three
gas fireplaces and three Vermont Castings gas stoves, and six
rooms, including the suite, have cable TV and VCR/DVD players.
The suite and one room have Thermo-masseur tubs for two,
perfect after a long day on the slopes. A second floor TV room
features cable TV, loveseat and chairs and a guest computer
with high-speed Internet. There is also Wireless High Speed
Internet throughout the inn.
Common rooms include a spacious foyer with fireplace and a
whispering alcove, a living area with ornate slate fireplace,
dining and breakfast rooms, and a den with full beverage
service. A porch with a four-season view of Okemo Mountain
allows guests to stomp the snow off in the winter and rock
with the breeze in the summer.
Ludlow is surrounded by five lakes, the Black River, Okemo
Mountain, and all of Vermont. The area offers activities for
all seasons and interests. Enjoy a day in Vermont exploring a
country road or discovering an antique that's just right to
take home. Hiking, biking, golf, canoeing, and swimming make
excellent summertime pastimes, while snowshoeing as well as
cross-country and downhill skiing in the winter make the cold
temperatures more bearable. Historical sites abound in the
area and are enjoyable all year.
At The Governor's Inn you will find excellent food, a
luxurious room, friendship, and generous hospitality. |
The Governor's Inn is synonymous with gourmet cooking.
Breakfasts, served from 8:00 until 9:30 a.m., are bountiful
and delicious. Signature items include Cathy's crisp stuffed
French toast recipes topped with Vermont maple syrup,
specially made omelettes, and mouth-watering egg souffles.
You can then take a picnic from Cathy's hamper for a day of
exploring, but be sure to be back for afternoon tea at 4:00
p.m.
The single-seating, prix fixe dinner begins at 7:00 p.m.
Saturdays in the elegant, lantern-lit dining room. Chef Cathy
appears, greets guests, and speaks briefly about the evening's
meal and the sumptuous courses to follow.
She also conducts Culinary Magic Cooking Seminars at the
Inn. Jim oversees the dining room service and is always
willing to make recommendations to guests regarding the wines
that would be suitable to complement the evening's entree. |
