Situated on 350 acres and adjacent to the Green Mountain National Forest, this four-season resort offers endless outdoor activities for families and couples of all ages. The Resort features an extensive equestrian center complete with more than 40 horses and instructors who teach English, Western, Dressage, and Cross-Country Jumping to riders of all skill levels. Then in winter the Resort's renowned Nordic Ski & Snowshoe Center offers 80 kilometers of trails (60 kilometers groomed) up to 2,100-foot elevation. Originally a barn for a turnip farm in the 1870's, The Mountain Top Inn and Resort has enjoyed a marvelous evolution. The lodging tradition was created in the 1940's, and in 1955, the Resort was proud to play host to President Eisenhower and his entourage during a fishing expedition. Throughout the years, improvements to the original building were made while maintaining the integrity of its Yankee origin -- the beauty and ecology of its natural surroundings.
