Located in the heart of the Monte Vista
Historical District, Bonner Garden Bed and Breakfast is a
magnificent, award-winning Italian villa surrounded by lush
gardens boasting a 50-foot swimming pool plus a roof-top patio
that overlooks San Antonio, Texas.
Conveniently located minutes from downtown
San Antonio, the Inn is close to the Zoo, Botanical Gardens,
Witte and McNay Museums, Trinity University and Incarnate Word
College. Guests can enjoy easy access to Sea World and Fiesta
Texas as well as many of the fine restaurants in the area.
Internationally known for her etchings and
print-making skills, Mary Bonner spent much of her career in
Paris, where she captivated the city's art center with her
Texas motifs. She was instrumental in incorporating the
Italian Renaissance flavor to The Bonner Garden, which she
called home and where she returned to live until her death at
the very young age of 48. Restored in 1985 this home was cited
by the San Antonio Conservation Society.
The six guest accommodations have either
king- or queen-sized beds, private baths, televisions, VCRs
and telephones. Three of the rooms have fireplaces, most have
writing desks and each has its own unique decor. The grounds
are surrounded by stone walls and a wrought-iron fence and
gate. Ample protected parking is provided for guests.
Each morning guests enjoy a generous
breakfast including fresh fruit, juice, and delicious coffee
or tea served with gourmet entrees, such as stuffed French
toast. Afternoon refreshments are available upon request. |
Guests may enjoy the lovely house and
gardens, share the cool refreshing pool in the summer, relax
with a book or watch a movie in front of one of the many
fireplaces. They can browse in the Texana library or listen to
quiet music in the comfort of the living room, enjoy the
cooling breezes under the star-studded Texas sky on our
roof-top patio, work out in the exercise room, walk to the
nearby Trinity University track, or take a casual stroll
through the Monte Vista area with its lovely homes and
gardens.
Guests enjoy the beauty of their
surroundings while taking a step into the past where they can
experience the peace and tranquillity of the early 1900's.
Continuous referrals from past guests indicate that Mary
Bonner's charm continues to captivate the world. |
