Specialty Recipe

"Decadent" French Toast

Ingredients
1 cup brown sugar
1/2 cup butter
2 Tablespoons light corn syrup
1 loaf French or Italian bread
5 eggs
1-1/4 cups milk
1 teaspoon vanilla

Mix together brown sugar, butter, and corn syrup. Heat until boiling and boil one minute, stirring constantly. Pour into 9 x 12-inch pan sprayed with non-stick cooking spray. Slice bread into 3/4-inch slices and nestle into syrup. Put eggs, milk, and vanilla into blender and whirl for 15 seconds. Pour over bread. (At this point, the recipe may be covered and refrigerated overnight). Bake uncovered 30 to 35 minutes in a 350-degree oven.
