Robin's Nest Bed and Breakfast stands between the
skyscrapers of downtown Houston and the miracles of the Texas
Medical Center. It resembles a small, European first-class
hotel wed to the ambience of a restored, inner-city American
Victorian bed and breakfast inn.
Robin's Nest consists of three historical houses setting
side by side, circa 1898, 1920, and 1938. Local legend has it
that the former farm house, a restored 1898 Victorian, was the
first home built in what is now an urban mecca called the
Montrose. The area also has been designated as Houston's
Museum and Arts District. Surrounded by Houston's major
museums, art galleries, and universities, the inn is a perfect
local to enjoy Houston for a week or weekend.
The beautiful and interesting fabrics that adorn the homes
have been custom-sewn exclusively for Robin's Nest, and long
leaf pine hardwood floors lie throughout the house in tall
rooms that are spacious but cozy, with their companion windows
meeting the tree line. A beautiful parlor is available for
guests' enjoyment, and a tea/coffee station is upstairs for a
nice cup whenever the need arises. A timeless wraparound porch
is whimsical and relaxing.
Seven guest accommodations, generous in size, boast
queen-sized beds, featherbeds atop fine mattresses, plenty of
natural light, and private baths. Standard amenities include
bar refrigerators, cable television, clock radios, private
phone lines, dataports, wireless Internet access, and desks.
Some rooms also include a twin or day bed should you require
additional sleeping space. One accommodation is a 4-room suite
with a full kitchen suitable for long-term stays.
Three vacation rental units are also available, all with
full kitchens.
Awake to the soft aromas of a full breakfast each morning
tailored to the preference of the guests, ranging from light
to hearty. If you require a vegetarian or otherwise
diet-sensitive menu, your hosts are happy to accommodate.
Practically everything is made from scratch, and the
ingredients are always fresh. |
