Gracious hospitality and attention to detail are the
hallmarks of Blair House, a fine country inn/ bed and
breakfast located on 22 acres in the beautiful Texas Hill
Country town of Wimberley, halfway between Austin and San
Antonio. A respite from today's busy world, Blair House makes
its guests feel special with the ultimate pampering, tempting
gourmet meals, and charming ambience.
Blair House offers a healthy dose of southern hospitality
with inviting common areas including a large living room,
dining room, and television room. The Inn's library includes
thousands of books and periodicals, as well as several hundred
music CDs and current videos. A sauna and a massage room are
available, with licensed massage therapists on call and a
natural stone swimming pool and hot tub overlook the Paradise
Valley. Throughout Blair House, the paintings of well-known
artists from Texas and the southwest are beautifully
displayed, and all are for sale.
Eleven guest rooms have private baths, luscious linens,
lovely views, televisions with VCRs, DVD, CD players, fresh
flowers, and fine chocolates. Each lodging accommodation is
individually decorated to create an ambiance of peace and
tranquility. You can enjoy single or double whirlpool baths,
four-poster beds, and private porches and decks. The San
Miguel Room, San Gabriel Room and San
Rafael Room are individual cottages built on the hill
with a beautiful view of the valley. Each cottage features a
stone fireplace, microwave and refrigerator, private balcony,
and a whirlpool tub with a separate shower.
The aroma of French roast coffee lures you to a fine
multi-course breakfast. Each evening savor a delectable
dessert, delivered to your room and on Saturday evenings
experience an elegant five-course dinner. Executive Chef Mark
Malowski offers twice-monthly cooking classes as well as
individual cooking seminars. |
An appealing list of leisure activities is yet another
amenity of Blair House.
Enjoy a massage, a refreshing dip in the pool, or maybe a
nap in the hammock.
Those seeking more active endeavors may want to take
advantage of the on-site hiking and biking trail or enjoy some
of the water activities available at nearby Blanco River,
Cypress Creek, San Marcos River, Guadalupe River, and Canyon
Lake.
Play a round of golf, visit the Wimberley artists'
community, or head to San Marcos for some outlet shopping.
Austin, San Antonio, and historic Fredericksburg are not too
far from Wimberley, and all make a memorable daytrip any time
of the year.
The accolades for Blair House's culinary creations and
gracious hospitality are rivaled only by compliments for the
Inn's comfortable, casual elegance. |
