River Gallery
at theBluff VIew Art District is the place that premier the "Found
Objects" sculptor Kathy Jacobs in her very first exhibit.
While recovering from an illness, Kathy found quiet relief in
items she had been collecting all her life. She had been
keeping "little treasures"-prizes from Cracker Jack
boxes, little tin penny toys, photographs, and anything with a
heart-in shoe boxes for years and has chosen to use them to
create artwork.
"About a
year ago, while I was recuperating from an illness, I
reincarnated some early bisque dolls and began to place them
in an old 1940's metal baby buggy. Without giving it much
thought, I hung a doll's cloths hanger on the buggy handle. I
was both delighted and disturbed by its subtle message."
