Robert Farrell
grew up in a small Wisconsin town and was raised in the house
built by his great grandfather. He was raised surrounded by
antiques and that atmosphere is the root of his appreciation
for the handmade, unique objects that, when passed from
generation to generation, become treasured reminders of the
past.
I am a
traditionalist at heart - a lover of antiquities and of
objects made with only modest tools and a human being's hands.
I strive to keep alive an understanding of and appreciation
for one of a kind, hand made objects.
The
inspiration for my work comes from several areas: the
ceremonial objects unearthed from centuries long past; the
ideas of family heirlooms and treasured objects; and the
knowledge that objects made from metals last forever and will
survive long after I am gone. My work is both celebration of
past history and my legacy left for future generations.
