Marga Hayes
Ingram is a painter/ceramist. She studied painting painting,
printmaking and graphic design at the University of Tennessee
and drawing and painting at the Mesa Community College in
Arizona. She was taught how to work with clay through a friend
and colleague and combined the two mediums to create her work.
"The
pieces that I make are a reflection of both my art background
and my spiritual studies. I believe that everything is sacred;
that all life is connected. I place my paintings of the land,
the water, the sky and human beings in altars to help get the
message across. I am interested in the myriad things that
happen while moving through the process of both painting and
pottery. Like Joseph Campbell, what I am really looking for
when I work is the ability to follow my bliss, and to have the
feeling that I have cut my boat loose into the stream. "
