Winner 2004 and 2006 Inn Traveler
Magazine's
"Best Romantic Getaway Award" noted by guests.
Nestled in the Susquehanna Valley and surrounded by the
beautiful Endless mountains of rural Pennsylvania, Fáilte
Inn Bed and Breakfast and Antique Shoppe is all about green
lawns, beautiful gardens, romantic getaways, elegance, and
peace. It's all in the name Fáilte, the Gaelic
word for welcome. The Inn has been featured on WNEP
television's Home and Backyard Show, on PBS's West
of Clare production, and in Happening's Magazine.
Enjoy the unhurried charm of yesterday in a
7,500-square-foot, turn-of-the-century farmhouse decorated in
the graceful elegance of the Victorian era. Escape to a quiet,
well-stocked library or play or listen to the antique baby
grand piano. Relax in front of a warm fire in the library or
parlor on a cold winter's day. Feel the cool mountain breezes
beneath the paddle fans on the wide verandah overlooking three
acres of lawns, gardens, and apple orchards during the lazy
days of summer.
Fáilte Inn offers five beautifully decorated lodging
accommodations, each with a private bath (four are ensuite).
Guest rooms have air conditioning, ceiling fans, color cable
television, coffee/tea making supplies, and a carafe of
complimentary mead (honeyed wine). Catherine's Suite
comes complete with a sitting room and a double bed. Susan's
Suite, on the ground floor, has a sitting room and
fireplace, a huge, elegant bath with sunken tub, and a
king-sized bed. Jennifer's Room (pictured on
Details page) has a queen-sized bed, Chelsea's Room
has a queen-sized bed, and Cassidy's Room can
sleep three people.
Delight in a full country breakfast served daily in the
elegantly appointed dining room or on the screened verandah in
summer. In the afternoon, join your hosts for a complimentary
wine, brandy, coffee, or tea in the historically restored
Speak-Easy, which dates back to the days of Prohibition. Make
sure to visit the antique shop on premises, specializing in
fine Victoriana. Enjoy the outdoor spa. |
There are several options for recreation and activity in
Susquehanna Valley. Fishing and boating at the Susquehanna
River are less than a mile away, or enjoy nearby golf and
swimming. If you just want to see the sights, there are plenty
to choose from. New York's Finger Lakes and area wineries are
nearby, as is Pennsylvania's scenic Route 6. Explore Corning
or Ithaca in New York, World's End and Rickett's Glen State
Parks, the Pennsylvania Grand Canyon, or any one of the many
antique shops all across the area. There are also a number of
craft fairs and festivals to visit as well as the wonderful
concerts in the park during the summer.
Relax in the country atmosphere of rolling farmland, away
from the noise of city traffic and the stress of busy
lifestyles. Escaping from the hustle and bustle of a hectic
world isn't as far away as it may seem. It's as close as Fáilte
Inn Bed and Breakfast and Antique Shoppe, where you are always
welcome. |
