Built in 1786, the Brafferton Inn is the cornerstone of
Gettysburg, Pennsylvania's historic district and the
town's oldest continual residence. A bullet from the
opening shots of the Battle of Gettysburg was lodged in
the mantel and remains there to this day.
Listed on the National Registry of Historic Places and
with roots planted deeply within the history of the town
itself, the bed and breakfast inn is a place filled with a
wonderful mix of history, art, and hospitality.
Lodging accommodations at the Inn are comprised of 13
guestrooms, including five suites. |

Seven of the rooms and a sitting area are across a covered
atrium in the nineteenth-century brick carriage house
adjoining the original building.
Furnished with eighteenth- and nineteenth-century family
antiques, every room is a unique accommodation with individual
decor. High ceilings, elaborate stencils, and family portraits
create character in the chambers, while private baths and air
conditioning provide convenience.
Make your stay even more memorable by arranging for
champagne, chocolate-dipped strawberries, or fresh flowers in
your room for an additional charge.
Enjoy a hearty full breakfast each morning within the four
muralled walls of the dining room. Bountiful Adams County
orchards provide fresh fruit to complement seasonal breakfast
specialties such as peaches and cream French toast, apple
cinnamon pancakes, and award-winning broccoli and cheese
quiche. Even for those with dietary restrictions, hosts the
Hodges family will make sure guests leave the table satisfied,
ready for exploring the historic town of Gettysburg. |
