New York Bed and Breakfast in
the Heart of Manhattan
The Inn on 23rd is a family-owned and -operated bed and
breakfast in the heart of Manhattan's Chelsea District. The
Inn offers travelers a very special way to enjoy New York City
with all the conveniences of a fine hotel in a setting one
might expect in Martha's Vineyard or Vermont, plus the added
bonus of an intimate, personal touch.
Fourteen one-of-a-kind guest rooms are on five floors, each
accessible by elevator. Each comfortable and charming
accommodation has its own special theme carried out in the
decor and artwork. All provide new private baths, air
conditioning, and pillow-top queen or king-size mattresses,
which assure you of a peaceful night's sleep and sweet dreams.
Double-glazed windows promise peace and quiet, black-out
window shades keep out the harsh sunlight, and white-noises
machines lull you to sleep.
Guest rooms are fully equipped with your convenience in
mind, offering two-line phones with voice mail and data ports,
irons and ironing boards, hair dryers, alarm clocks, and bath
amenities. Other items, such as baby cribs, VCRs, and CD
players, are available upon request. Local calls, faxes, and
photocopying services are all complimentary. There is an honor
bar open 24 hours a day with choice liquor, beer, wine, and
soda. A microwave oven, water cooler, and full-size guest
refrigerator with ice in the freezer are also available.
Guests enjoy a bright and sunny library to read, play cards,
and enjoy breakfast daily. Your morning meal includes fresh
baked goods, fresh fruit salad, granola, yogurt, cereals, and
hard-boiled eggs, accompanied by fresh orange juice, specialty
coffee, and a choice of teas. The Inn on 23rd also hosts a
wine and cheese reception every Friday and Saturday, 5:00 to
7:00 p.m. |

Culinary Arts Program
In 1998, the Fisherman family fully renovated and restored
a 19th-century townhouse preserving the exposed brick on some
of the walls, installing modern bathrooms, and adding an
elevator. They transformed the home into an urban B&B with
a mix of hotel conveniences and the feel of a country inn.
Family heirlooms, antiques, photographs, and an eclectic art
collection from Annette's former gallery enliven the interior.
The innkeepers are always available to give suggestions,
help out with special requests and recommend sightseeing
venues and restaurants, and provide free passes to most major
New York City museums. Chelsea is such a lovely, dynamic, and
diverse district, and your hosts are proud to be part of its
revival. |
