Casa Escondida (the "hidden house") is a secluded and serene bed and breakfast that is nestled on six acres in the awe-inspiring mountains of northern New Mexico. You will find the bed and breakfast in the historic village of Chimayo (only 35 minutes north of Santa Fe), just off of the "high road to Taos," one of the most magnificent drives that you will ever experience. Casa Escondida is centrally located for many splendid day trips and ski outings throughout all of northern New Mexico!

The bed and breakfast was built in the "Spanish colonial adobe style" of architecture that is typical of northern New Mexico. Architectural elements such as kiva fireplaces, wooden tongue and groove ceilings, saltillo tile floors, and wooden vigas all add to the warmth and rustic charm of Casa Escondida.

Eight intimate and comfortable guest rooms, all with private baths, are filled with handpicked antiques and accented in a rustic southwest style. Some lodgings offer amenities such as antique wood stoves, private patios, fireplaces, private decks, or oversized bathtubs.

A full, hot breakfast is included each morning and is served in the breakfast room, where the morning sun filters through the many surrounding French doors. You can look forward to completing your day with a relaxing soak in the bed and breakfast's outdoor hot tub.

The village of Chimayo provides guests with a truly authentic northern New Mexico experience. Visit its famous church, the Santuario de Chimayo, which is known for its miraculous healings. In addition, Chimayo's local weaving shops are internationally known for their fine work. After a day of sightseeing, enjoy the local cuisine at the renowned Rancho de Chimayo Restaurant.

Santa Fe to the south and Taos to the north make nice excursions during your stay.

At an elevation of 6,200 feet, you will discover that the air is clear and the expansive views of the mountains, pastures, foothills, and sunsets are all breathtaking! The intimate and tranquil setting will allow you to truly find your inspiration at Casa Escondida.
