Situated on the scenic Turquoise Trail in the historic coal mining town of Madrid, New Mexico, Java Junction Bed and Breakfast is located in a quaint Victorian building and shares quarters with Java Junction Coffee Shop. The bed and breakfast presents a private and enchanting retreat for holidays, special occasions, quick getaways, and vacations.

The house in which the bed and breakfast is located is a beautifully restored mining home, circa 1916, located in main street Madrid. The one-bedroom suite above the coffee shop sleeps two adults and one child age 10 and younger with one queen bed plus one single roll away bed and includes such amenities as a six-foot soaking clawfoot tub, full kitchen, air conditioning, and private patio.

Guests of the Java Junction Bed and Breakfast will enjoy a continental breakfast with delicious choices of lattes, cappuccinos, and fresh croissants, muffins, and bagels.

The surrounding area is rich with things to do. Horseback riding, mountain biking, tours through the historic museum, available options. In the summer the area is host to blues festivals.

During the Christmas holidays, Madrid has once again become a magical attraction with Open House weekends, caroling, horse and carriage rides, a children's train ride, Santa Claus, and a light display contest.

Located halfway between Santa Fe and Albuquerque, Madrid is ideally situated for day trips to both cities and is a destination for any visitor to the Southwest. Madrid and Java Junction offer a fun-filled family vacation or that perfect lovers' getaway!

Madrid, once a railroad-company and coal mining ghost town, was nationally famous for its awe inspiring Christmas lights and decorations. Powered by more than 500,000 kilowatt hours of coal-generated electricity, thousands of lights illuminated the hillsides. The City of Bethlehem, Toyland, Santa Claus, and more came alive in the winter nights. Visitors from all over the country crowded Main Street, and commercial airliners would reroute to experience the light spectacle. Madrid was the first town west of the Mississippi to electrify its town streets. Today, Madrid is home to some 300 residents and more artists per capita than any other town in the country. Since the early 1970's, Madrid has grown into a charming artisan town, with many unique shops, galleries, and eateries, most owner-occupied and all within walking distance of Java Junction.
