The Mt. Washington Bed and Breakfast sits upon 5-1/2 acres
of land on a hill overlooking Reflection Pond in the
Androscoggin River Valley, surrounded by the White Mountains.
To the south, the Presidential Range and Mount Washington
stand watch.

As you relax on the porch, you can gaze at Mount
Washington and even see smoke from the cog railway as it
makes its way to the highest peak in the Northeast (6,288
feet). |
All seven accommodations at Mt. Washington Bed and Breakfast
have private baths, and the four suites contain sitting rooms.
Sleeping comforts range in size from two double beds to king
bed, while two of the suites with queen beds also feature
Jacuzzi tubs.
Awaken to the aroma of freshly brewed coffee. Seat yourself
at a table set with orange juice and fresh fruit each morning
in the Hummingbird Dining Room for a full breakfast.
Every day Mary Ann cooks something different, such as stuffed
cinnamon French toast, blueberry pancakes, omelets, or quiche.
With your entree, you have a choice of bacon, sausage, or
Canadian bacon. A selection of hot or cold cereals is also
available. While eating breakfast, you may be visited by one
of the hummingbirds who come to feed at the window. Guests
never leave the table hungry! Special diets and dietary
restrictions are accommodated. Mary Ann prepares a variety of
Atkins specialties.
After breakfast, curl up on the sofa in the Knowing Room
to read a book, or sit on the porch and do some bird watching.
Catch a glimpse of the bald eagles who hunt in the area and
occasionally sail over the Bed and Breakfast, or watch
goldfinches, barn swallows, tufted titmice, nuthatches,
chickadees, robins, or one of the many other birds who make
the White Mountains their home! If you are an amateur
ornithologist, make sure you grab one of the bird guides to
help you identify your sighting. |
For a more active day, you can play golf, swim, canoe, hike,
bike, snowshoe, ski (either cross-country or downhill), ride
snowmobiles, build a snowman, sight-see, or shop.
You can also visit one of the many other area attractions.
The Mount Washington Auto Road, Great Glen Outdoors Center,
and Wildcat Mountain are all about ten minutes away, and the
Appalachian Trail is only about a half-mile from the Inn.
At the Mt. Washington Bed and Breakfast, enjoy all the
beauty and activities of the White Mountains in comfort! |
