Situated in the unspoiled, rural region of the White
Mountains just across the border from New Hampshire, The
Foothills Farm offers the charm of a bygone era with all the
amenities of nearby Conway and the bustling Mount Washington
Valley.
Accommodations are provided in a restored (circa 1850)
farmhouse, offering quiet, country solitude in comfortable
quarters, a 3-bedroom log cabin and a 2-bedroom cottage.
Guests are invited to socialize in the den and library,
where you can enjoy the warmth of the hearth and the
cheeriness of cocktails (provided by guests). In the summer
months, a screened-in porch overlooking Kevin and Theresa's
picturesque gardens and asparagus fields provides a colorful
spot to the end or beginning of any day.
There are three guest rooms with shared and private baths
furnished in tasteful period antiques reflecting the era of
the home. There is also a 2-bedroom cottage cottage available
with a warming fireplace, and both have a private kitchen,
bath, livingroom and dining area.
One of the most pleasurable aspects of The Foothills Farm is
the unbelievable breakfast served every morning. Specialty
dishes are made daily, varying from Eggs Benedict to Blueberry
Pancakes, every morsel made from scratch. Dinners for parties
of six or more can be arranged with advanced notice as well.
The Foothills Farm also can help in arrangements for special
events such as weddings, receptions, and reunions at guests'
requests. Theresa, a licensed massage therapist, also provides
on-site therapeutic massage. Courses in herbal instruction are
offered as well, covering plant identification and use plus
preparation of herbs. Kevin and Theresa are happy to do
anything they can to make your stay at The Foothills Farm a
memorable one. |
Fifty acres of forest, fields, and streams provide the
opportunity for leisurely walks or secluded picnics. Excellent
hiking, biking, cross-country skiing, fishing, and
snowmobiling can be found just outside the back door. Swimming
and canoeing on the Saco River are just ten minutes away, plus
seven major ski areas lie within a 30-mile radius (the closest
being seven miles). Scores of restaurants and tax-free factory
outlets are located in nearby Conway. In addition, for those
who enjoy shopping for older things, your hosts are more than
happy to direct you to numerous out-of-the-way antique shops
that still offer excellent prices.
Make arrangements for a trip to The Foothills Farm Bed and
Breakfast, where you will always feel like more than just a
guest. |
