Ingredients

8 ounces softened cream cheese

1/4 cup packed brown sugar

1/4 cup honey

1 teaspoon vanilla

Pinch of cinnamon

Pinch of salt

1/4 cup chopped pecans

1 cup organic milk

3 large eggs

1/4 cup all-purpose flour

3 Tablespoons sugar

2 teaspoons baking powder

2 teaspoons vanilla

1/4 teaspoon salt

Preheat oven at 400 degrees Fahrenheit. Whisk together cream cheese, brown sugar, honey, 1 teaspoon vanilla, cinnamon, and pinch of salt. Stir in pecans. Lightly butter baking sheet. Cut French bread on a bias about 1 inch thick. Slice bread in the middle to create a pocket. Spoon equal amount of filling into each pocket.

Whisk together in shallow bowl milk, eggs, flour, sugar, baking powder, 2 teaspoons vanilla, and 1/4 teaspoon salt. One slice at a time, soak the bread in the egg mixture. Heat skillet on medium low and grease with a tablespoon of unsalted butter and a tablespoon of vegetable oil.

Cook both sides until golden brown. Bake the sauteed slices until puffed and beautifully golden.
