The Cottage on the Knoll at Cedarcroft Farm Bed and
Breakfast, featuring pampering cottage lodging, is Western
Missouri's Romantic Hideaway.
The 20-foot by 25-foot cottage features a comfortable
king-sized four poster bed in absolute privacy. Enjoy a real
wood-burning fireplace, an extra-deep thermal massage tub, and
a two-head, two-person shower for an indulgent romantic
getaway. Wood walls and plank floors add to the feeling of
country seclusion. Sit in the glider swing on the porch and
gaze at the meadow visited by deer and wild turkeys.
At the Cottage on the Knoll, you will be pampered by
countless in-room amenities. A small refrigerator with ice
trays is stocked with sodas, bottled water, and snacks.
Perfumed candles, bubble bath, bath salts, robes, and
his-and-hers rubber duckies are available for your romantic
dip in the Ultrabath thermal massage tub. There is also a
27-inch LCD flat panel TV and DVD/VCR/CD player with romantic
movies.
Of course, it's the thoughtful little touches that make all
the difference. There is a coffeemaker and a mini-microwave
oven. Clock radios and reading lamps are on both sides of the
bed, and three-way reading/romance lights are on both sides of
the loveseat. Ceiling fans provide that special cooling
atmosphere, and outside motion sensor lights let you go safely
to your car at night (or switch them off and enjoy the
sparkling country sky!). Games, cards, and books are available
as well if that's your desire.
The special breakfast at the Cottage on the Knoll is
delivered to your door. A typical breakfast menu might include
Sandra's famous Country Casserole, homemade biscuits or
muffins with Amish jellies, and fresh seasonal fruit.
Accompanying this spread are milk and juice (already in your
refrigerator for your convenience), dry cereal, and coffee and
tea.
The Inn is minutes from Warrensburg and University of
Central Missouri, with its athletic and cultural activities.
Whiteman Air Force Base, home of the B-2 Stealth Bomber, and
the Amish community at Windsor are nearby. Cedarcroft is 30
minutes from the State Fair in Sedalia, and Powell Gardens.
Missouri's KATY Trail is nearby for biking and hiking. Truman
Lake and greater Kansas City are only an hour away. Your hosts
will help you to find area historic sites, Civil War
battlefields, community festivals and rodeos, and scenic
spots. |
Some might think all this is enough, but not your hosts at
Cottage on the Knoll! A typical snack layout includes homemade
chocolate roses, nut breads and cookies, salsa with tortilla
chips, a sausage and cheese plate, fresh fruit (bananas,
oranges, apples, and grapes), and popcorn to go with the video
collection. You can wash it all down with soft drinks and
bottled water.
Guests are invited to explore the secluded farmstead with
two century-old barns and its surrounding 80 acres of woods,
creeks, and meadows. Lucky guests have spotted deer, wild
turkey, coyotes, hawks, quail, or even a bobcat. You can
admire the horse, help with chores, or just relax. If you like
antiques or small community shops (such as Windsor's Amish
store), the Inn's special guide to area shops will be
invaluable.
Compliments of your hosts, you will receive a long-stem rose
for your special occasion, a hard-back journal to record your
best moments, and a disposable 35mm camera in case a deer
visits the sumac patch outside your window. |
