The Rock Eddy Bluff Farm, offering both bed and breakfast
and vacation rental lodging amid 150 acres of Missouri's
scenic Ozark forest, rests peacefully on the sinuous Gasconade
River as it enters the valley, sweeps between an island and
willowed gravel bar, and relaxes into a pool or "eddy".
Viewed from the bluff, meadows appear below, and wooded ridges
stretch to the horizon.
At Rock Eddy Bluff Farm, the world is somehow different.
City cares fade. Gentle nature seduces...quietly! Your vision
seizes the broad panorama. Birds wheel and soar on high
currents.
High and surrounded by timber, The Bluff House offers
several enticing options to the traveler. A spacious deck
facing the sun welcomes the weary after a long day of travel
or leisure. Cook out, relax in an Adirondack chair, and
luxuriate in the hot tub dubbed "The Think Tank."
You will find The Bluff House Suite in the
upper story of the Bluff House. Relax amid a splendid view of
the valley and the wooded hills. Here you will have a
sensation of resting in the tree tops. Two bedrooms are
separated by a sitting room/library and a bath.
A secluded cottage and two cozy 1880's cabins are also part
of Rock Eddy Bluff Farm. Turkey Ridge Cottage
is a gentle, comfortable lodging for a couple or an entire
family. Sitting alone in the trees and overlooking the river
valley, the scenery is magnificent. You'll find a fully
outfitted kitchen, three small bedrooms, woodstove/fireplace
and a library of books. Relax around a campfire, stretch out
in the hammock or curl up with a book in a truly bucolic
setting.
Relive the past in the the Line Camp Cabin,
where everything works as it did in the 1880's. Retire from
the porch swing in the evenings to the gentle light of
kerosene lamps, pump water from a hand pump, and stoke the
wood fire if there is a chill. Full cooking is available. This
is the ultimate in romantic seclusion!
Aunt Phoebe's Perch offers the same retreat
from the 21st century. A rebuild 1800's hand-hewn cabin boasts
a magnificent porch overlooking the valley and a sleeping loft
with two queen beds. Full cooking, with gravity fed water and
gas fireplace heating. This is an ever-so-comfortable retreat
in an historic cabin. |
Guests staying at the Bluff House will enjoy a full country
breakfast prepared by the hosts. The cottage and cabins are
self-catering with full cooking, with a breakfast provided but
not prepared.
After breakfast, relax and recharge in the splendor of these
natural surroundings by doing nothing, or take part in the
many outdoor activities at Rock Eddy Bluff Farm. Hiking, bird
watching, exploring the river and hills, swimming, and Amish
wagon tours are among the free pleasures you'll find during
your stay.
The scenic Gasconade river, which borders Rock Eddy Bluff
Farm, is known for excellent smallmouth bass fishing. Canoes
are provided at the private river access for guests use
whenever they have the urge to wet a line or simply explore
the river.
Nearby, you will discover shopping, antiques, an Amish
community, and refreshing country eateries. Every day is
another adventure at scenic Rock Eddy. Make arrangements to
visit soon! |
