Built in 1890 for the Delemere sisters, it was recognized as one of the finest resorts in New Haven. Not a lot has changed since then. In 1989, the mansion was renovated to become Yelton Manor and has received honors for its ambiance and service ever since.

Open all year, The Manor has 11 gorgeous guest lodging accommodations, including honeymoon and anniversary suites. Each room has private bath, cable TV, and VCR. Many rooms have Jacuzzi baths and CD/stereo as well. Two parlors with fireplaces, two porches, a cozy den with bar and popcorn maker, a lakeview "widow's watch", and other luxurious lounges hold an extensive library of unique books and videos while soothing music plays everywhere. Outdoors, the decks and garden swings are surrounded by award-winning perennial and rose gardens.

Complimentary hors d'oeuvres are served every evening and a heavenly breakfast each morning. You may wake to the soft aroma of well-blended coffee or fresh pastries and baked goods. Breakfast may include delectables such as egg strata with fresh salsa, stuffed French toast, English muffins with specialty jams and marmalades, and orange coffee cake.

For guests who prefer a more private ambiance than that of a traditional bed and breakfast, there is also The Manor Guest House, built in 1993. Also a glorious Victorian home, the guest house features a beautiful wicker porch, lovely parlor, and the private nooks for which the resort is famous. Each of the six guest rooms is beautifully furnished as an independent romantic escape, appointed with fine antiques, queen or king bed, fireplace, Jacuzzi, TV and VCR. The upper-level suites have delightful lake views and two have charming balconies. A continental breakfast is delivered to your door in the morning.
