Welcome to the Berry Manor Inn, Rockland's premier bed and
breakfast inn and the only AAA Four Diamond-rated historic bed
and breakfast inn in mid-coast Maine.
Built in 1898 with all the grandeur of the Victorian age as
a wedding gift for his new bride, this shingle-styled mansion
was originally the residence of Charles H. Berry, a prominent
local merchant. Today, it remains one of the most stately
homes in Rockland, Maine and the area's newest bed and
breakfast inn.
Guests enjoy full use of the inn's spacious common rooms,
which include a formal parlor, fully stocked library, and
drawing room with fireplace, board games, and television for
those in need of an electronic fix. The gardens and front
porch are also relaxing places to while the time away. A guest
pantry is complete with refrigerator, microwave, and freshly
baked treats.
Guests accommodations are equally as charming. All of the 12
spacious guest rooms have working fireplaces and luxurious
private baths, most with whirlpool or clawfoot tubs. Standard
amenities include air conditioning, telephones, high-speed
Internet access, clock radios, and warm, cozy robes. A limited
number of in-room televisions are available upon request. All
accommodations are uniquely decorated in the colors and tones
of the Victorian era with a pleasing balance of elegance and
comfort, plus an attention to detail that your hosts carry
through to all aspects of your stay, from morning coffee to
evening sweets.
Enjoy a full, multi-course breakfast in the elegantly
appointed dining room any time between the hours of 8:00 and
9:30 a.m. Choose an intimate table for two by the window, or
ask the staff to set up a table for up to six if you are
traveling with a larger party. With advance notice, the staff
can also arrange for an earlier or later meal to better fit
your travel plans or plan a menu to accommodate special
dietary needs or food allergies.
This well-loved home has been a center of grand and gracious
hospitality for more than a century, first as the primary
residence of four generations of the Berry family and then in
the hands of another local family for 50 years. As innkeepers
of the Berry Manor Inn, your hosts are honored to share in
this tradition and invite you to experience a return to
graciousness and grandeur under their roof. |
