The original portion of the inn was built in 1820 by Dr. Reuel Barrows, one of the founding members of the Fryeburg Temperance Union. Succeeding generations of families built additions to accommodate growing needs, creating space for a present-day bed and breakfast with the charm and elegance of yesteryear.

Faithfully restored by its new owner, Margaret Cugini, Main Street offers a peaceful haven from everyday life. Four beautifully decorated bedrooms and modern bathrooms assure your comfort. You will rest comfortably on luxurious bedding surrounded by beautiful furnishings. A delicious breakfast is served indoors or outdoors as the season and weather permit. Enjoy your morning delicacies while perusing the morning paper or enjoying a second cup of coffee. This is also an excellent time to ask Margaret about exciting things to do and see in the area.

Although Main Street is situated on fifteen acres overlooking the intervale with a spectacular view of Mount Kearsarge and the eastern flank of the White Mountains, it is only a few short steps to the center of town.

Within fifteen minutes you can enjoy skiing at Shawnee Peak or Mount Cranmore, canoeing and kayaking on the Saco River, and cross-country skiing, hiking, and snowmobile trails. Shoppers will love the tax-free factory outlets in North Conway. Main Street Bed and Breakfast is one hour from Portland, two and a half hours from Boston, and a six-hour drive from New York.
