The Anchor Watch Bed and Breakfast, located on the beautiful
midcoast of Maine in quaint Boothbay Harbor, is a
Colonial-style home, circa 1920.
The residence was originally renovated in 1991 to include
private baths, and then once again in 1997 to add a first
floor room with king bed and westerly facing bay window in the
third floor room. The bed and breakfast inn is laid out with
two rooms each on the second and third floors, one on the
first floor; a shady porch on the east and a sunny deck on the
West. Guests will love the Inn's proximity to the water, 100
feet away, where you'll find chairs waiting for you to watch
the boating activities of the harbor.
Anchor Watch offers five comfortable guest rooms with
private baths. Four of the five lodging accommodations offer
scenic water views, while beds range from queen to king. The
decor of the guest chambers includes country stencilling and
quilts that convey a New England relaxation.
In the morning, enjoy a delicious breakfast of fresh fruit,
homemade granola, a hot egg dish, and freshly baked muffins or
popovers, served in the breakfast and social room decked out
with seven windows facing the water and a fireplace for your
enjoyment throughout the year.
There is much to do in Boothbay Harbor, beginning with
(quite obviously) the water and the many varied kinds of
boating activities one may enjoy. The city known as the "Boating
Capital of Maine" has 40 different boat excursions daily
in season and even a few off season.
Come enjoy all the treasures Boothbay Harbor has to offer by
staying at the treasured Anchor Watch Bed and Breakfast. |
This is also a city where you really get to appreciate the
fine details and care given to whatever creative pursuit is
undertaken. Craft fairs abundant with local artists honing
their particular craft take place weekly. Potters, antique
shops and fine restaurants featuring succulent lobster and
wonderfully fresh seafood make for an enjoyable afternoon
wandering. Festivals throughout the year range from the
Fisherman's Festival, Scottish Festival, Windjammer Days and
Harbor Jazz Weekends to antique auto shows, antique shows,
Fall Foliage Festival, Early Bird Sale days and Festival of
Lights in December. |
