Belfast Architectural Gem of the Maine Coast

This Victorian lady was originally built for prominent Belfast attorney James S. Harriman and his wife, Nell. The year was 1898, a time when homes were designed for elegant entertaining, furnishings were rich and elaborate, and there was a true graciousness to living. Here at the Jeweled Turret Inn, this serene era continues. The Inn was restored and decorated in 1986-87, by Alaskans, Carl and Cathy Heffentrager, and is continuously maintained and improved. The Inn is a labor of love, not only for the ornate Victorian architecture, but the many antiques and collectibles found throughout New England on treasure hunts. Make your stay a tradition at The Jeweled Turret Inn.

One of the many exciting features is the den with its dark pine wood, beamed ceiling, and rattan wainscoting, focusing on the grand fireplace of rocks and semi-precious stones. This fireplace is built of rocks from every state in the Union, at the time the house was constructed. Enjoy three more parlor/sitting rooms with beautiful natural woodwork, hardwood floors, massive unique fireplaces and the luxurious Victorian decor.
