The Log Cabin is a rustic, full-service island retreat overlooking scenic Casco Bay on Bailey Island, Maine.

Enjoy cocktails on your private deck and watch the sun set over the Bay as it silhouettes majestic Mt. Washington, New England's tallest peak, located 90 miles to the west. Each of the individually decorated guest rooms has its own private deck with water views, telephone, Internet access, TV and VCR, and a private bath. Four rooms boast Jacuzzi tubs. Four accommodations provide the convenience of a kitchen or kitchenette, and two rooms have an outdoor hot tub. There is a reading room where guests can use a computer.

Awaken to the sight of fisherman hauling lobster traps as sea gulls soar overhead. Then wander over to the dining room for a bountiful, home-cooked breakfast while taking in the spectacular panoramic view of Casco Bay. The breakfast menu includes juice, coffee, tea, fresh fruit, a pastry, and an egg dish or french toast or pancakes with a breakfast meat. If you have dietary restrictions, please let your hosts know in advance, and they will try to accommodate you. There is a full bar and wine list, and dinner is served to guests only with prior arrangement.

The Log Cabin is the perfect getaway that offers a convenient home base for the area's many attractions well as a comfortable spot for doing nothing more strenuous than reading a book.

Connected to the mainland by the world's only cribstone bridge, Bailey Island is located just 13 miles from Brunswick. The island is a great place for beach and water activities -- kayaking, boating, charter fishing, and sunbathing. Guests enjoy biking, hiking, and browsing the many galleries and shops on the island.

LL Bean and Freeport's many outlet stores are just a short drive from the island as well as the Joshua Chambelain Museum, Bath Marine Museum, and Bowdoin College.
