Front and center in the National Historic District of Annapolis, Flag House Inn Bed and Breakfast is one of the largest private homes near the waterfront.

Originally two Victorian townhouses, the building was restored in the early 1990's and now combines the privacy of an inn with the friendliness of a bed and breakfast.

The large front porch, with swings and teak benches, greets you as you approach the 14-room house. The guest entrance opens onto the library with fireplace, dining room, and stairs leading to the guestrooms. The house is filled with original naval and nautical art and memorabilia, fine paintings, antiques, and reproductions. For your safety, the Flag House also features a sprinkler system and interlocked smoke alarms.

The Flag House offers five welcoming and comfortable guest rooms, including a two-room suite. Each has a private bath, king or twin beds, cable television, air conditioning, and ceiling fans. Enjoy a large, full breakfast in the fine guest dining room. Chat with fellow guests or peruse the Annapolis area guides, books, and magazines of related interest before you set off for the day to explore this beautiful and eventful historic community.

Your hosts, Bill and Charlotte Schmickle, are eager to help you get the most enjoyment out of your visit to Annapolis.

Leave your car at the Inn's free off-street parking, because the City Dock waterfront and the U.S. Naval Academy visitor's gate are only half a block away.

Within four blocks, you will find fifteen museums and historic homes, art galleries, restaurants, antique and design stores, St. John's College, and live theater amid all the sights and sounds of America's sailing capital. Sailing excursions and boat tours are also nearby.

On business or on pleasure, visiting colleges or revisiting the nation's past, you are always welcome at Flag House Inn, where your hosts fly the state or national flags of their guests. Bill and Charlotte look forward to meeting you!
