Rock Village Bed and Breakfast is a New England Victorian
Painted Lady nestled on almost 24 acres in Middleboro,
Massachusetts, just 40 minutes outside of Boston and 20
minutes from Plymouth and the Cape Cod Canal.
"Rock Village B&B boasts historic setting and
owner's flair for antiques" as reported by Jane Lopes
of The Gazette. Once the setting of a fast-paced greyhound
track, the inn's gentle stream, pond, historic architecture,
and scenic landscape encourage guests to slow down and relax.
Built in 1860 by Charles Neil Atwood, (who established the
Rick Mill in Middleboro), the home's intricate detailing has
been restored to its former glory. The inn's entrance welcomes
with Corinthian columns and a wood-carved staircase. Pass
through the pocket doors to the dining room, featuring an
antique tiled fireplace. Turn to the right and the library's
wooden bookcases invite you to sit for a while. Next door, the
ribbed-ceiling foyer opens up to a three-season porch crowned
with copper. Come see the original tiles of Victorian tulips
and seashells.
Of course, guestrooms are equally as charming, with every
lodging accommodation providing graceful furnishings and
personal touches. Standard amenities include air conditioning,
private baths, refrigerators, cable television, hair dryers,
irons with ironing boards and High Speed Internet Access.
Awake to a full breakfast consisting of fresh fruit, bread,
and a main dish along with coffee, tea, and juice.
A Surround Sound Home Theatre High Definition 65" wide
screen TV is now available in the central air-conditioned
recreation room at Rock Village. HD cable channels include
National Geographic, MHD, TNT, Discovery, ESPN, ESPN2,
UNIVERSAL, NESN, NHD/FSN, HBO, -2, signature, family, comedy,
zone, and Latino. Other channels include 200-300, as well.
Your stay at Rock Village Bed and Breakfast is your special
time away. The wonderful atmosphere combined with your hosts'
knowledge of the area will make it a delightful and memorable
experience. |
Rock Village Bed and Breakfast, conveniently located at the
end of the MBTA from Boston's South Station, is a haven for
those who do not want to fight the Cape Cod traffic and just
want to get out of the city for a long weekend.
If you have come to see the area, there are plenty of local
attractions to keep you busy. Plymouth Plantation, Cape Cod,
Martha's Vineyard, Boston, beaches, museums, and various
dining, deep sea fishing, whale-watching, and duck cruises all
beckon the traveler. There are also many local fairs and
festivals held throughout the year within 30 minutes of the
bed and breakfast, including the Barnstable County Fair,
Cranberry Festival in Wareham, and the Woods Hole Film
Festival in Falmouth.
Here guests can come and enjoy wildlife such as fox, deer,
bobcats, and coyotes as well as some endangered plant life.
