Lovingly furnished, this century-old
New England home -- now a bed and breakfast inn -- offers
its guests tranquility amid a completely smoke-free
environment, surrounded by the beauty of the Berkshires
and a tradition of poetry and literature.
Choose from 15 unique guest rooms, each
decorated with antiques and period pieces and offering a
comfortable bed, private bath, and air conditioning.
Ceiling fans, telephones, and hairdryers are standard,
while many rooms boast canopy beds, fireplaces, CD
players, TVs, and DVD players. Lodging accommodations in
Shadowood, the Victorian-style carriage house, are
exquisitely appointed. Lavish amenities at Shadowood
include fireplaces, entertainment systems, whirlpool tubs,
in-room coffee makers and refrigerators, and private
decks.
Back in the main Inn, the fully stocked
guest pantry offers coffee, tea, hot chocolate, and
cookies. Refrigerators, an icemaker, and a hot water tap
add to guests' convenience. And for those guests who like
to maintain a connection with the outside world,
high-speed wireless Internet access is available.
Discover the Library, the focal point
of the Inn, with its extensive collection of poetry, both
traditional and contemporary, along with other fine
literature as well as a good selection of popular books.
Your hosts showcase a poem of the day each morning, and
they encourage guests to browse their collection and find
a book to read in front of the Library fireplace, in your
room, in the gardens outside, in the hammock, or beside
the heated outdoor pool.
At Brook Farm Inn, a full breakfast
buffet awaits you each morning, and English tea with
homemade scones and strawberry jam is served each
afternoon. Poetry readings and other entertainments are
held throughout the year. Linda, an accomplished
storyteller, puts her talents to good use for the benefit
of Brook Farm's guests. |

A short leisurely walk from the Inn finds
you in historic Lenox village, steeped in appealing boutiques,
antique treasures, art galleries, and splendid restaurants.
You can visit Edith Wharton's home, The Mount, as well as
Chesterwood and the Norman Rockwell Museum. Lenox is a place
for all seasons, equally beautiful and intriguing when the
color and woodsmoke of autumn fills the air to when the
sparkle of winter lights gleam on glistening snow.
There are many dance, music, art, and
performance venues throughout the year, so be sure to ask your
hosts to provide details. In the spring, picturesque hiking
over mountain paths will rejuvenate the spirit, while in
summer the Boston Symphony at Tanglewood will be music to your
ears. See dance at Jacob's Pillow or enjoy a play at
Shakespeare and Company, just around the corner. Golf, skiing,
boating, and tennis are nearby as well. |
