See yourself exploring the National Seashore on the outer
Cape, where the sand dunes seem to go on forever and you see a
whale surface for the first time right in front of your eyes.
Or picture yourself sitting in front of a crackling fire:
relaxed, with tea and home-baked cookies by your side, and
soft music in the background.
This is the experience at The Inn at Lewis Bay. Dating back
to the 1920's, this lovely Dutch Colonial was set in a quiet
seaside neighborhood of Cape Cod. Today, just steps from the
beach, the home has become a charming bed and breakfast.
The Inn boasts a large dining and living room with a
fireplace, which is the perfect place to make new friends or
to enjoy afternoon tea. Or, if you prefer, select a popular
novel from the inn's reading nook and simply relax. All of the
six bedrooms have queen-sized beds as well as private baths
with antique tubs. The rooms are each decorated differently
and are named after special little touches of Cape Cod which
have brought guests back time and time again. Two of the guest
rooms have peeks of Lewis Bay, and all are comfortably
furnished with a mixture of antiques and country. Fluffy
towels, fresh cut flowers, and a treat on your night stand are
all supplied to help make your stay here more memorable.
You will awake each morning to the smell of fresh baked
muffins and hot brewed coffee with the sound of the breeze
coming off the bay. Start your day with an early morning
stroll to the beach to watch sailboats and windsurfers glide
by. Enjoy your coffee on the porch, where you can leisurely
plan your day. In the dining room a bountiful home-made
breakfast will be served.
The inn has a library of area menus and attractions, and
your hosts will by happy to help you get the most out of your
stay by providing recommendations and directions. |
Ideally located mid-Cape on the southern side, The bed and
breakfast has easy access to virtually everything Cape Cod has
to offer. A short drive will take you to Hyannis Harbor to
board ferries to Martha's Vineyard or Nantucket.
Bicycling and golf are other favorite pastimes and Yarmouth
boasts more golf courses than any other town on the Cape.
Antique shops and museums can easily be found nestled
between cranberry bogs and seafood restaurants. For the more
adventurous, try your hand at sailing or fishing.
Whether you come to the Cape for the beautiful beaches, the
fabulous food, or just for a great getaway, The Inn at Lewis
Bay will be waiting for you with its cozy rooms and warm
welcome. So, take that first step to a treasured
vacation...David and Janet would love to hear from you! |
