Kihei is located on the
island of Maui, which is the second youngest island in the
Hawaiian chain and is made up of two volcanoes, Haleakala and Puu
Kukui caldera. Haleakala is the world's largest dormant volcano.

and is said to be one of the most remote places on Earth.
