Lathrop Manor Bed and Breakfast. built in 1744, is a beautiful example of a center hall Colonial with seven fireplaces.

Nestled in the center of the Norwich Historic District this B&B Inn has a rich history preserved in its beautiful craftsmanship from the hand carved wooden beams to the wide board flooring throughout. Samuel Lathrop built the house in the early 18th Century but it was met with a fire. The house was rebuilt and enjoyed by Dr Daniel Lathrop, a successful Pharmacist who is credited with employing the young Benedict Arnold.

Each of the Manor's guest rooms is named in honor of three centuries of previous residents. All accommodations offer king sized beds with fine linens, blended with period wall coverings, wide board flooring and hand carved 18th century chestnut beams, and working fireplaces, as well as a private bath appointed with oversized Egyptian cotton bath sheets, personal robes and designer bath products.

Breakfast is prepared each morning using the freshest ingredients available from local area farmers. Three courses are offered with several choices including heart healthy, gourmet and country style fare served in the dining room in front of the fire or on the veranda overlooking Lowthorpe Meadow. There is a guest reception each afternoon with complimentary beverages and hors d'ouerves in the Tavern Room in cold months and on the Veranda in the warmer months.

Situated on two acres of lush greens, the inn's gardens and old growth trees, are encompassed by 18th century New England stonewalls and slate sidewalks.
