The Dutch Iris Inn is a beautiful 1812 Colonial set on three
acres in the historic section of Granby, Connecticut.
The perennial and bulb gardens on the grounds surround the
inn with their natural beauty as blueberries and blackberries
grow wild all around. It is truly a respite from life's
hubbub.
You might want to rock in a rocking chair on the side porch
as you sip lemonade or herb tea and take in the sight and
scents.
Choose from six guestrooms, each with private bath. All
rooms feature carefully selected decor, and many boast
antiques, working fireplaces, and jetted tubs. All of the
amenities, from wireless Internet access to digital cable
(with 24 movie channels), have been chosen with you in mind.
Business conveniences include digital telephones with voice
mail, a business center, and valet laundry service. Bill and
Nancy make sure to take care of all of the details, and you
simply have the pleasure of relaxation. Be pampered with
massage packages, flowers, chocolates, and more.
Your day will begin with a candlelight breakfast accompanied
by soft classical music in the quaint dining room. Enjoy one
of the delicious breakfasts from the full breakfast menu. You
may relax in the living room by a roaring fire where early
American owners did their cooking. If you need to leave early,
your hosts would be more than happy to arrange an early
breakfast.
Regardless of your reason for visiting Connecticut, whether
it is sightseeing, business, or just relaxing, you can always
expect a wonderful night's sleep and a delicious breakfast.
Bill and Nancy look forward to sharing their inn with you
where you can take a breather from life's demands and take
time for yourselves. They hope that you will find your time at
the Dutch Iris Inn relaxing and rejuvenating. |
The Dutch Iris Inn is 10 miles from downhill skiing and
within walking distance of cross-country skiing. If you are
looking to take in the nature, McLean Game Refuge is right
down the road -- a favorite spot for bird-watchers and hikers.
Warm weather brings swimming, canoeing, and paddleboating at
beautiful Barkhamsted reservoir, about 15 minutes away.
For those looking for little less adventure, there are
several antique shops right up the road, or go into nearby
Hartford or Springfield, Massachusetts. If you want to venture
out a bit further, the Connecticut shoreline is only an hour
away, and day trips to Boston, New York, Vermont, and the
Berkshires of Massachusetts are easily accessible. |
