Manitou Springs is located west of
Colorado Springs at the base of Pikes Peak, America's most famous
mountain. "Manitou," a Native American word for "spirit,"
describes this beautiful mountain community. Nine named mineral
springs throughout town are fed by the snows of Pikes Peak.
Manitou Springs offers tremendous
outdoor recreational opportunities including, but not limited to:
skiing, snowboarding, mountain biking, horseback riding, hiking,
river rafting and kayaking, golf, fishing and hot air ballooning.
