The Coast Guard House in Point Arena, a historic inn with cottages has stood as a loyal sentry on a bluff over-looking the rugged Mendocino Coast for over a hundred years.

Once home to brave sea rescuers, this 1901 Cape Cod lodge offers a historic setting, a spectacular coastal perch and modern amenities. The inn is decorated with comfortable furnishings, quality linens, the work of local artists and craftspeople, as well as mementos of the inn's maritime history. The furnishings and decor chosen for the inn reflect the classic lines and purposeful design which characterized the American Arts and Crafts period of the early twentieth century.

Accommodations at the Coast Guard House include a total of four guestrooms in main inn, a cottage, and a boathouse. Amenities include queen beds, private baths, Japanese-style soaking tubs, fireplaces, and more. The Cypress Cottage offers a whirlpool spa tub nestled next to a gas fireplace - for a romantic getaway retreat. The Boathouse is an intimate cottage and a replica of the original boathouse from which Surfmen launched their lifeboats. The cottage features a fabulous ocean view, whirlpool spa for two, wood-burning fireplace, queen size bed and a private patio. Wireless Internet access is also available throughout the inn.
