Welcome to Bed and Breakfast on the Ridge in Surrey, the
city of parks and ocean beaches and the gateway to
Vancouver, British Columbia. |
 |
|
To the south of Surrey is the U.S./Canada border
crossing, and as you pass through on any of the major
highways, your entry to Vancouver will include the
breathtaking view of the North Shore Mountains. |
From the moment you arrive, your hosts, Dale and Mary
Fennell, welcome you with their warm and friendly hospitality.
You will immediately enjoy an overwhelming feeling of natural
light created by eight enormous skylights, high vaulted
ceilings, and floor-to-ceiling windows. Enjoy the guest
sitting lounge or an evening beverage on the large,
attractive, torch-lit sundeck, gazing at the star-lit skies
after an evening of relaxation.
Retire after a long day of travel to one of three
attractively decorated guest rooms, each with private bath and
television. Relax under a twinkle of stars or drift off to
dreamland with the sounds of softly falling rain on the
skylights. The central guest lounge provides a bar
refrigerator, coffee/tea making facilities, TV/VCR, tourist
information, games, and reading material.
A full breakfast is served each morning in the dining room
or the sundeck, weather permitting, complete with juices, an
array of fresh fruit, fresh breads, muffins, scones, bagels,
and a "cooked to order" hot entree. As you enjoy
your second cup of coffee, peruse the morning paper or decide
on attractions you would like to visit during the day.
There are numerous opportunities for golf at the nine
surrounding golf courses, all within ten minutes. Four large
shopping centers, eight antique stores, an indoor wave pool,
and Fraser Downs Casino and Horse Racing are only some of the
immediate local attractions! Major sites such as Chinatown,
Gas Town, Stanley Park Vancouver Aquarium, Capilino Suspension
Bridge, Grouse Mountain, and the Anthropology Museum may all
be easily reached by taking the Sky Train, only a ten-minute
drive by car. You are also only minutes by car from
conventions and seminars at the Sheraton Hotel or Rosemary
Heights. The Vancouver International and Abbotsford Airports
are only 25 minutes away by car.
For the winter vacationer, a 45-minute to 1-hour drive will
bring you to the North Shore and the enjoyment of skiing or
snowboarding at the local mountains of Seymour, Grouse,
Cypress Bowl, Hemlock Valley, and Holly Burn.
Dale and Mary Fennell welcome you to Bed and Breakfast on
the Ridge, where "The Door is Always Open and the Lights
are Always On." |
Bed and Breakfast on the Ridge is an architectural beauty
situated on half an acre on Panarama Ridge, Surrey -- a
comfortable escape from the city, yet conveniently located to
everything the Vancouver area has to offer.
The Inn is within a safe walking distance of a newly opened
small shopping mall, convenient for an evening meal, an
espresso coffee, or a few needed groceries.
You can also enjoy various activities at the new YMCA or an
evening of theatrical performance at the Bell Theatre of
Performing Arts.
Great day outings may be planned for Harrison Hot Springs,
visiting enroute the famous Zoology Center and the historical
city of Fort Langley.
Take a scenic drive to Whistler along the Sea to Sky
Highway, or a 25-minute drive will bring you to the British
Columbia ferry terminal, providing access to Victoria and
Nanaimo on Vancouver Island as well as to the Gulf Islands.
Drive 10 minutes to Crescent or White Rock beaches and spend
a leisurely day swimming and enjoying the miles of sandy
shores or hot tidal pools.
In the evening, enjoy strolling the White Rock promenade or
savor countless dinner cuisines while marvelling over the
breathless ocean view or spectacular sunset. |
