Specialty Recipe

Stuffed French Toast

Base Ingredients:
4 thick slices French bread
1/2 cup cream cheese
2 Tablespoons strawberry jam
4 eggs
1/2 cup milk
1/2 teaspoon vanilla
2 Tablespoons margarine
maple or fruit syrup
powdered icing sugar

Cut a slice part way through each slice of bread to make pockets. In a small bowl, stir cream cheese and jam until blended. Spread mixture into each pocket.

In a shallow bowl, whisk eggs, milk and vanilla. Dip bread in egg mixture to coat both sides. Melt margarine in a skillet over medium heat. Brown both sides of bread and remove from skillet. Dust with icing sugar and serve with maple syrup or strawberry syrup. Enjoy!
