Macadamia Nut Baked French Toast

Ingredients:

4 eggs

2/3 cup orange juice

1/3 cup milk

1/4 cup sugar

1/4 teaspoon nutmeg

1 teaspoon vanilla

One 8-ounce loaf Italian bread, cut in slices

1/3 cup melted butter

1/4 cup sliced macadamia nuts

With wire whisk, beat first eggs, orange juice, milk, sugar, nutmeg and vanilla together. Place bread slices in a single layer in a tight fitting casserole dish. Pour egg/milk mixture over the bread, cover and refrigerate overnight, turning once.

Preheat oven to 400 degrees. Pour melted butter in jelly roll pan. Arrange bread slices evenly in pan, sprinkle with nuts. Bake 20-25 minutes. The bread will be puffy and light golden. Serve with butter and syrup.
