The Arrow Rock Station Restaurant is housed in a building
that, when constructed in 1931, served as the Arrow Rock Oil
Station. New owners converted the all-stone service station
into a gas station and convenience store in 1976 and, nearly a
decade later, added a front dining room with shake shingles
and a barn-wood interior. Thus the Arrow Rock Station
Restaurant was born.
In keeping with the restaurant's down-home charm, the menu
features nothing but home cooking served with a generous
helping of hospitality at reasonable prices. The owner and
chef, Judy Turley, draws upon her 30 years' experience of
creating homemade delights.
Everything is cooked on site, including the Arrow Rock
Station Restaurant's delicious rolls and desserts. The
restaurant uses non-frozen, fresh-cut meats, and for the most
part, only in-season vegetables.
The Arrow Rock Station Restaurant's latest addition -- the
front dining room built in 1985 -- seats 25 people. Further
back on the main floor is a formal, more intimate dining room
that seats 15 and a small den area that seats 10. There's also
a deck out front for those who want to dine outdoors, and an
abundance of beautiful perennial flowers make it a visual
treat to do so. Total seating is for 50 people.
Arrow Rock Station is located at the entrance to Arrow Rock,
an historic river town located along the Santa Fe Trail on a
bluff overlooking the Missouri River. In 1804, the famous
explorers Lewis and Clark passed through when using the Santa
Fe Trail to cross the Missouri River. |
